The description says that the AI plays at it's peak on hard difficulty.On the other two higher difficulties (Expert and Impossible)it plays the same but you get handicapped a lot more on resources.Difference is that you can get a higher score when you finish a game on the higher difficulties. #1. I have heard pretty negative stuff about the Steam HD version, so im not sure. GOG version is the whole package. Steam HD version looks pretty, but it's like a demo version. On GOG you also have Heroes Chronicles, several stand-alone campaigns. I'd say that with GOG version you just get several TIMES more content. .
